Description

Proudly Made in the USA

With the introduction of jet aircraft in the late 1940s aviators began to fly at higher altitudes and in colder temperatures, precipitating a demand for a new type of flight jacket.

This eventually evolved into the MA-1 jacket. Building on this legacy of functional design and iconic styling, we reimagined this classic style for 21st century missions in and out of the cockpit.

This limited release Triple Aught Design Jack Carr edition features cross hawk-branded premium leather zipper pulls, a premium leather cross hawk ranger eye, and an exclusive custom printed escape map on an interior pocket.

The color Nightfighter, pays homage to the glossy black paint jobs of the night fighter squadrons of World War II. (The specification for this gloss
black was Jet Finish No. 622, which is likely the origin of the term 'Jet Black').

Features:

Engineered Performance: An evolved array of storage options on the left bicep keep critical tools close at hand. Aviator-style glasses stash neatly into a protective full length pocket, while pens, tire gauges, and other tools all have dedicated slots. A vertically zippered pocket provides secure storage and ready access to electronics or identification cards.

Ergonomic Storage: Zippered exterior hand pockets provide quick warmth and secure storage. High capacity, angled interior pockets are optimized for access in confined spaces.Keep larger electronics close to your core and insulated from the cold to extend battery life, stash gloves or hats for ready access, or stow your flask of post-mission libations.

Moisture Management: The DWR treated shell works in conjunction with the hydrophobic properties of Primaloft® insulation to resist moisture absorption and dries quickly, while maintaining a high warmth to weight ratio.

About The Collab

In the military, we talk about being mission capable—ready to execute at a moment’s notice, no matter the situation. That’s the mindset Triple Aught Design brings to their gear. For over two decades they’ve been crafting purpose-built products with the precision and reliability needed for life’s most demanding adventures.

Triple Aught Design operates on a principle I hold close: anything worth doing is worth doing right. From their headquarters in San Francisco’s historic Dogpatch district, they design and manufacture gear that meets the highest standards. They’re not just creating exceptional gear—they’re supporting American jobs, suppliers, and the industries that keep our nation strong. Every detail, down to the last stitch of Ripstop fabric or piece of webbing, is engineered for performance and durability.

What sets TAD apart is their commitment to small-batch production. Their process ensures every piece they make is special, built for those who refuse to settle for average. It’s gear for the capable individual—whether you’re deep in the backcountry, on a range, or navigating the challenges of everyday life.

I’ve learned that the right gear can mean the difference between success and failure. With TAD, you’re not just buying a product; you’re equipping yourself for the mission at hand, whatever that may be.
