Minnesota Leather Works
There’s something about leather—real leather—that tells a story. The smell, the feel, the way it wears over time, developing a patina that’s as unique as the person using it. When I first came across Minnesota Leather Works, I knew I’d found a brand that understood the importance of craftsmanship and tradition.
Started in 1999 out of a garage just outside of St. Paul, Minnesota Leather Works was born from a desire to bring back the American-made ethos. In an age where mass production and disposable goods dominate, Kent and Lee Begnaud, along with their small, dedicated team are crafting leather products the way they’re meant to be made: by hand, with care, and built to last a lifetime.
From wallets to bookmarks to keychains and journals, each piece they make is built from heritage leather sourced from tanneries that have been doing things the right way for over a century. These are tanneries like S.B. Foot and Weaver Leather—names that mean something in the world of leather craftsmanship. They don’t cut corners. Every stitch is sewn with durability in mind, and every product is made to be passed down through generations.
Whether I’m on the road, in the field, or writing at home, their products are as rugged as they are timeless. This isn’t just about buying leather—it’s about investing in something that will tell your story for years to come.
That’s why I’m proud to partner with Minnesota Leather Works. They’re fighting the good fight—crafting quality goods, made in America for those who appreciate a return to true craftsmanship.
