Who we support
The JACKCARRUSA collection supports a select group of foundations that all focus on veteran warfighters who put their lives on the line to protect and defend the freedoms we, as Americans, hold dear. I have a personal connection to each of the organizations below and sincerely thank you for your contributions to their continued efforts on behalf of our warfighters and their families.
Every time you wear or use something from the collection, be reminded that there are men and women in dangerous places around the globe, gearing up to bring the fight to the enemy. We won’t hear about them unless something goes wrong, but they are out there, night after night, crushing it for all of us.
Valor for Life provides no cost surgical spine care for special operations veterans. How can I vouch for them? They used minimally invasive surgical procedures to repair damage to my C6 and V7 vertebrate after the Navy wanted to fuse my spine. And, they operated on a dear friend of mine who happened to be on a helicopter that crashed into a certain compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan in May of 2011.
The National Ability Center welcomes members of the armed forces and veterans from every era and their families to participate in recreational, rehabilitative, and therapeutic programs that include ongoing lessons, specialized camps, mobile programs and adaptive wilderness expeditions. The difference I’ve seen this organization make in the lives of veterans and those of all abilities and disabilities is nothing short of astounding.

Rescue 22 was founded to address the staggering crisis of veteran suicide. The “22” denotes the number of veterans taking their own lives each day in the United States. To help those who have sacrificed so much for the nation, The Rescue 22 Foundation provides fully trained service and support dogs to veterans of our Armed Forces suffering from PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, and the physical and emotional trauma of the battlefield. I am proud to be an ambassador for this important organization.

Though Special Forces is in their name, the Special Forces Charitable Trust is a resource for the entire special operations community. Among a host of functions, the SFCT provides tragedy assistance including transportation, lodging, memorial receptions and support for families whose loved one gave their last full measure of devotion to the nation. They also provide spouse and family assistance in resiliency, communication, and skills in the worst of times.
SOC-F provides medical, financial, and other support to SOF members and their families in ways that are not met through other sources. In other words, they step up to fill the gaps. Their mission statement is respectfully adopted from President Lincoln’s second inaugural address in 1865: "…to care for him, who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan…"

The Brain Treatment Foundation helps transform the lives of veterans suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress. There are many operators alive today because of their efforts.
Big Hearts under the Big Sky is an organization established by the Montana Guides and Outfitters Association. Their programs focus on guiding children diagnosed with life threatening illness, women suffering from breast cancer, and military veterans who have provided extraordinary service to our country, along with their families, on fully outfitted expeditions in big sky country. My wife was nominated for one of their trips and our family was able to reconnect in Montana after my last deployment to Iraq.
